U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Kazakhstan on the republic's Independence Day marked on December 16, according to Akorda.
The letter addressed to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev says that the two countries reached an "impressive progress" in cooperation between the countries.
"Our cooperation beginning from decision making issues on nuclear non-proliferation to fight against terrorism makes the world more safe and stable," AKIpress cited Trump as saying.
The U.S. leader also noted that Tokayev is marking the Independence Day of Kazakhstan for the first time as a President and wished him successes in the new year.
